The paper presents chosen results of testing of non-linear filtering algorithms (an Extended Kalman Filter, two versions of Unscented Kalman Filters and a Particle Filter) in tracking applications. The accuracy of filters have been assessed and compared. The movement of tracked objects has been modeled in a Cartesian frame of reference, whereas the measurements are assumed to be realized in a polar...
The polarization state of the radar antenna is slow changed, which makes the radar can estimate the polarization parameters of the signal. This paper presents a new method based on the observation equation by least squares method, considering the radar observation equation of antenna polarization matrix is built in the complex domain, we puts forward a transformation method to realize real coefficient...
The paper addresses a problem of ballistic object trajectory estimation on the basis of measurements from a cinetheodolite electro-optical tracking system. The object flight dynamics is modeled using a three degrees of freedom equations of motion. The estimation of object trajectory is performed with the use of an Extended Kalman Filter.
Monopulse is a widely used algorithm to estimate the target angular co-ordinates in radar application. Formulas exist that give approximate values for the accuracy achievable with monopulse. This paper derives simple but accurate closed formulas to estimate the monopulse accuracy by taking into account the radar detection threshold (and then PD and Pfa) and the target fluctuation models.
Main purpose of this paper is to outline options of atmospheric pressure determination with help of TDOA method location. The TDOA system uses the ASTERIX data format. There is the exploration of profitable data extraction from ASTERIX data format. Also the principle of atmospheric pressure determination is explained. As a results there are shown derived atmospheric pressure data and its accuracies.
Passive radar detection systems based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals have the advantages of wide coverage, long detecting distance and good concealment. If effectively combined with the forward scatter radar (FSR) principle, it can be used to monitor an important area, which is of great significance to national defense security. This paper mainly focused on the analysis of signal...
We present an algorithm that allows an interceptor aircraft equipped with an airborne radar to meet another air target (the intercepted) by developing a guidance law and automatically adapting and optimising the transmitted waveform on a pulse to pulse basis. The algorithm uses a Kalman filter to predict the relative position and speed of the interceptor with respect to the target. The transmitted...
In this work a Kalman filter for tracking Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) moving near the base lane of a bistatic radar system and illuminated by GPS signals in three-dimensional (3-D) space is suggested. Continuous-time and discrete-time state equations are derived to define a linear time-invariant model. Model matrices describing the behavior of the object, state vectors, measurement vectors and vector...
A new clutter-map constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detection algorithm for log-normal distribution is proposed. A combination of two recursive estimators (dual estimators) is considered for the estimation of the mean and standard deviation of the log-normal interference. Compared with the estimation method based on digital exponential filtering technique, the dual estimators converge faster while...
In this paper we consider the problem of tracking a target in a 2D space whose model is based on a constant velocity assumption (up to a process noise) in the Frenet-Serret frame (or intrinsic coordinates). This model is particularly suited to straight lines and coordinated turn motions. Then, we adapt the Invariant Extended Kalman Filter (IEKF), as in [1], a novel variant of the EKF on Lie groups,...
The paper presents a concept of the parametric autofocus method for Passive Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) imaging of air targets. To create a focused ISAR image, the precise knowledge of an object trajectory is required. In this paper a theoretical model of the target motion and an algorithm for finding the best set of estimated motion parameters are described. Simulated results of ISAR...
