A ZnO-nanowire photodetector was prepared using three-dimensional through silicon via (TSV) technology. The diameter and depth of the Si via were about 80 µm and 175 µm, respectively. Cu uniformly filled in each TSV, whose average resistance was about 1 mΩ. Upon illumination with UV light (= 330 nm), it was found that measured responsivities is 7.38×10−3 A/W for the 3D TSV ZnO nanowire photodetector...
We fabricated single electron transistors (SETs) by using gold nanoparticles as their islands. With a simple method of the fabrication, characteristics of capacitively-and resistively-coupled SETs (C-SETs and R-SETs) were achieved at 77 K and room temperature.
Quantum dot laser diodes are expected to replace conventional semiconductor laser diodes in new high-speed information and communication devices. We successfully fabricated disk-shaped quantum dots using a bio-template and neutral beam etching. Our original top-down process achieved defect-less and a high density of dots from etching process compared with conventional plasma processes. Therefore,...
This work studies the mechanism of identical photo-induced leakage current in a-InGaZnO4 thin film transistors during reverse gate voltage sweep. There is the identical off-state current with the reverse sweep under UV light irradiation, and the photocurrent for UV light exposure region near the source electrode is more significant than that near the drain electrode, which is different from photocurrent...
We present a quantitative numerical analysis of dielectric microbead detection experiments with nanoribbons operated in the AC small signal regime. To this purpose, a comprehensive model of nanoribbon operation in electrolyte environment and with DC/AC signals is extended to include the effect of site-binding charges in DC, transient and AC conditions. The model is calibrated against DC measurements...
This paper presents nanometrology of an ultraprecision machined surface by using optical sensors. To verify the feasibilities of optical sensors on the measurement of surface profile, different types of fiber-optic sensor and laser micro interferometer are employed to measure the roundness of a ultraprecision machined cone in this paper. Experiments confirmed that the fiber-optic sensor can measure...
