Nitrogen vacancy (NV−) centers possess exceptional sensitivity to magnetic field even under ambient condition. The optically detectable electron spins and the atomic size make it a promising candidate for advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique with nanoscale spatial resolution. In this work, diamond particles with NV− centers were deposited by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition...
This study developed simple multiplex miRNA amplification and detection platform using the combination of RCA approach and fluorescence quenching property of reduced graphene oxide. miRNA 29 and miRNA 144*, which are short noncoding RNA (22 nt) found highly expressed in the blood circulation of tuberculosis patients, are chosen for the development model. Our combination approaches could detect miRNA...
A multi-layer coating enabled drug delivery method has been developed here to augment AFM based nanorobot technology. Being developed for over a decade, the AFM based nanorobot has been established as a key concept of nanorobotics, and has been applied in nanomaterial and biomedical related research. In these AFM based nanorobots, however, the AFM tip was mainly used as a mechanical end-effector to...
Carrier-spin dynamics in GaAs quantum disks (QD) fabricated by top-down lithography using bio-templates were investigated by means of reflection-type spin-resolved pump-probe spectroscopy. The temperature dependence of electron-spin relaxation time (τs) is found to obey τs ∝ T−3 above 100 K, indicating spin-loss in the barrier due to thermal redistribution of the electron between the QDs and barrier.
Three dimension (3D) printers are commercially available with resolution as high as micrometers. Further miniaturization would require development of both materials, instruments, as well as methodology in order to attain required spatial precision to reach nanometer scale. This presentation reports our recent progress in producing 3D nanostructures using an atomic force microscopy (AFM) based method...
The remarkable properties of two-dimensional materials have generated great enthusiasm among researchers. Very recently, MoS2, the representative of transition metal dichalcogenides, has triggered increasing attention and hold huge potential for many applications. Although the tribological properties of MoS2 has been studied for decades, the atomic-scale motion between tip and MoS2 surface is quite...
