A dual polarization of patch antenna array for IEEE 802.11b/g/n MIMO applications are proposed and experimentally studied in this paper. The four by one patch antenna array printed on 300mm by 100mm by 0.8 mm FR4 substrate. The FR4 substrate is 2.5 mm above the metal ground plane. The patch array has two input ports for the orthogonal polarizations MIMO application. The measured efficiency and gain...
Circuits designed and fabricated on a transparent and flexible substrate is presented in this paper. The proposed circuits were designed to operate at 2.4GHz and fabricated on commonly used PVC material. Using double-sided parallel-strip line on power divider and branch line designs, we obtained good simulated and measured results within the frequency of interest.
Some novel bandstop filters (BSF's) are proposed, including a sharp-rejection BSF via the combination of the conventional BSF and signal interference technique, a sharp-rejection dual-band BSF using signal-interaction concept with three paths. The measurement results have a good agreement with the simulation results.
Experimental investigation of electrical properties of Portland cement concretes (PCCs) at microwave frequencies is presented in this paper. An equivalent electric circuit including conductance and susceptance is used for modeling of electrical properties of PCC specimens at early ages. Experimental results demonstrate that electric conductance can be used to identify the different subsurface moisture...
Recently, the challenges of the utilization of higher frequency bands for cellular systems have been attracting attention. In these high frequency bands, besides the higher propagation losses, the propagation channel tends to suffer more severe shadowing by pedestrians in the environments. In this paper, we carried out measurements in the 26GHz band in an indoor quasi-static environment for figuring...
A simple circularly polarized (CP) loop tag antenna is proposed to overcome the polarization mismatch problem between reader antenna and tag antenna. Good CP radiation can be achieved by introducing an open gap onto the square loop. Also, the technique of loading a matching stub across the RFID chip is applied to the proposed loop tag antenna, and desirable impedance matching between the antenna and...
In this paper, an ultra-wideband (UWB) monopole antenna preventing interference from worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX), C-band, and wireless local area network (WLAN) systems is presented. The proposed antenna has an octagonal radiating patch with an H-shaped slot embedded. The required dual band-rejected properties can be simply obtained by adjusting the parameters of the H-shaped...
In this study, a miniaturized high-isolation diversity antenna design is first proposed for application in terminal devices, based on incorporating a resistance absorption approach with a notched slot. This novel antenna is designed to cover UMTS frequency bands of I, III, and VIII, under a physical antenna size constraint of 30 × 5.1 × 4 mm. Measured results are plotted for comparison with those...
This paper presents a novel wideband differential-fed higher-order mode patch antenna working at millimeter-wave band. The size of the patch antenna elements have been enlarged by exploiting higher-order mode operation for easy fabrication, lower cost as well as higher tolerance. On each element a slot is introduced to widen the bandwidth. Experimentally, the antenna achieves about 18% impedance bandwidth...
Recently, S-parameter method that is the measuring method of the input impedance of the balanced antenna with a vector network analyzer is proposed. It is a problem of this method that the jig influences measured value when the measuring frequency in-creases. To remove the influence of the jig, we have examined compensating method using the ABCD-matrix. In this report, we examine the effect of the...
