This paper studies the cascade synthesis of RC polyphase one-ports. We discuss it based on LC polyphase networks instead of RC ones, and give sufficient conditions for a positive real function to be realizable as a one-port.
This paper presents an improved PMOS-based active inductor circuit suitable for output driver in wireline link transmitters. Wider tuning range and higher inductive impedance in the desired bandwidth with respect to a previous reported topology is achieved using a varactor in the active inductor architecture and modifying the feedback resistor. Using the proposed active inductor, a prototype output...
In this paper, the N-phase current driven passive mixer clocked by 1/N duty-cycle clocks is analyzed. The analysis shows that the N-phase passive mixer holds the property of impedance transformation, where it can frequency-translate baseband lowpass impedances into RF frequency to synthesize high-Q bandpass filters. This property can be used to replace the off-chip SAW filter in wireless receivers...
Bioelectrical impedance measurements can be used in a wide range of clinical applications for monitoring and tissue characterization. Bioimpedance measurement applications need current drivers with high output impedance and stable current injection in the frequencies from DC to about 10 MHz. This paper presents an improved current driver based on a pair of balanced operational transconductance amplifiers...
In this paper, using of short-time chirp excitation for the bio-impedance measurement is discussed. The short-time chirp waveforms have at least two advantages. First, flat and wideband amplitude spectrum together with shortness of signal enable fast and adequate estimation of the object under study. Second, low power consumption with more than 90% concentration of the generated excitation energy...
We report an experimental technique for estimating the dispersion coefficient α of a constant phase element (CPE). The method employs using a setup to excite the impedance under consideration via a periodic triangle-wave current I(t). Measuring the 50% rise time of the developed voltage V (t) then enables finding α using a pre-calculated Table. Experimental results are shown.
AM-PM distortion causes spectral regrowth in RF transmitters with modulated signals. One reason for AM-PM is the fact that signal-dependent transistor input capacitance pulls the frequency response of the input matching network and causes phase shift already at the input of the transistor. This paper studies the Miller capacitance effect in most common fixed-supply and supply modulated power amplifier...
