The non-line-of-sight ultraviolet single-scatter approximate model is usually used to study the channel characteristics and system performance due to its simplification. In this paper, a performance evaluation system based on the approximate model is established, which includes four aspects, namely, packet error rate, average transmitting power, bandwidth utilizing efficiency and data transmission...
We compared the performance of the asymmetric and direct current bias limiting optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (ADO-OFDM), asymmetric limiting optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (ACO-OFDM), and the direct current bias limiting optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DCO-OFDM) in visible light communication (VLC) systems. We optimize the power ratio between...
We propose a scheme of ultraviolet (UV) communication system, with polar channel coding method. The bit error rate (BER) performance of the UV polar code scheme is analyzed by simulations and offline experiments, in contrast with low-density parity-check (LDPC) scheme. Results suggest that the polar code scheme has a better BER performance than LDPC scheme in the UV communication system.
We demonstrated a dense sub-carrier uniform division labeling transmission system by using MATLAB software. The simulation results indicated that dense sub-carrier uniform division labeling has a good advantage over that ordinary OFDM system, and the signals at a bit rate 50Gbit/s have a good performance which is more than 10 when OSNR is equal to 25dB over 1000km optical fiber channel which only...
We experimentally demonstrate an indoor visible light positioning system based on optical camera communications, in which the transmitted coordinate data are spatially separated and demodulated by a camera. The receiver's position is calculated based on the coordinates of light-emitting diodes in the real word and in the image.
To solve the problem of the deviation of the demodulation threshold which is caused by quoting demodulation loss from the specification, a measuring method based on relationship between Eb/N0 and Bit error rate (BER) in theory is proposed. Utilizing the inverse-function of BER and the BER measured actually, the Eb/N0 in theory corresponding to the measured BER can be calculated. After multi times...
In this paper, we design a novel training symbol structure to estimate in-phase/quadrature (IQ) mismatch. Based on this structure the estimation method is deduced in frequency domain which can achieve the estimation of IQ mismatch and channel distortion independently and improve the system performance obviously. Numerical simulation shows that the proposed method has better system BER performance...
