A novel optical vector network analyzer (OVNA) system based on silicon-on-insulator integrated optical bandpass filter is presented, which improves measurement accuracy in both magnitude and phase responses due to higher resolution and sideband suppression ratio offered by the new OVNA system.
In this work we characterize the RF modulation characteristics and the dynamic range of a III-V-on-Silicon DFB laser. We demonstrate InP-based high power modified uni-traveling carrier photodiodes heterogeneously integrated on silicon on diamond (SOD) waveguides. These photodiodes reach 20 nA dark current at −5 V bias voltage. A 50 μm long device exhibits an internal responsivity of 1.07 A/W.
