Recent results on parametric amplification in the Frequency domain are presented followed by elaborating future designs of all Yb based high repetition rate FOPA chains.
We have proposed and experimentally demonstrated a broadband polarization rotator based on the augmented-low-index-guiding platform which consists of both silicon and silicon nitride layers as the waveguide core. With single etching process and silica cladding, the device is compatible with photonics integrated circuits.
We characterize free carrier effects in silicon waveguides due to electronic non-idealities such as dielectric fixed charges and interface states, independently considering SiO2, SiNx and Al2O3 cladding layers. These effects are shown to impact both the passive and active properties of silicon waveguides.
Impurity Free Quantum Well Intermixing (IFQWI) by cap layer thickness variation for InGaAsP/InP multiquantum wells (MQWs) is reported for the first time. The blue-shift is observed to be enhanced or inhibited depending on the thickness of the ZrO2 cap layer used (100–600nm) for anneal conditions of 600–750°C for 40s. The group-V intermixing in InGaAsP/InP dominates the IFQWI resulting in a blue-shift...
