The influence of processing parameters on the morphology of periodical structures on surface of steel 15Kh13MF after the nanosecond laser irradiation are discussed and analyzed. Modification of microstructure, surface morphology, and hardness by laser treatment is discussed.
We report the data concerning investigations of photoluminescence spectra of ZnO nanoparticles in the matrixes of liquid crystal materials performed at T = 290 K within a visible region. The mentioned spectra were obtained at polymeric state of Cetylpyridinium Chloride and Disodium Cromoglycate materials.
The size factor was analyzed as criterion for the formation of M14Cu24O41 phases. The minimum critical value of average radius of the cations in position M at which an M14Cu24O41 phase is formed was found to be equal to 1.21 Å and the maximum critical value to 1.40 Å.
The high optical quality glasses with CaB4O7:Tb, LiCaBO3:Tb, CaB4O7:Dy, and LiCaBO3:Dy compositions containing 0.5 and 1.0 mol. % Tb2O3 and Dy2O3 have been obtained. By electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and optical spectroscopy it was shown that the Tb and Dy impurities are incorporated in the CaB4O7 and LiCaBO3 glass network as Tb3+ (4f8, 7F6) and Dy3+ (4f9, 6H15/2) ions, exclusively. All observed...
Second harmonic generation efficiency enhancement in KDP single crystals with embedded anatase nanoparticles was accomplished in comparison with nominally pure KDP crystal. The enhancement effect occurs due the self-focusing of laser pump pulses.
Efficient impact of the incorporated metal oxides nanoparticles on self-action effects and optical harmonics generation was studied in single crystalline KDP matrix. It was shown possibility to enhance laser frequency conversion efficiency due to the anatase giant optical response manifestation.
Linear and nonlinear optical properties of pHEMA-oxo-TiO2 nanohybrids were studied. The reduction of refractive index with the increase of UV irradiation dose was observed. The TiO2 nanoparticles concentration strongly affects the nonlinear optical response of the composite system.
Homogeneous TiO2-acrylate nanocomposite with low optical scattering were prepared by UV curing. The surface of the nanoparticles was modified by carbonic acids to control the aggregation between the nanoparticles. Effects of TiO2 content on the properties of nanocomposite (transmission, refractive index, mechanical properties, internal structure) were investigated. Depending on the composition of...
In situ high-resolution neutron powder diffraction along with electrochemical analysis was used to study fatigue processes in commercial LiCoO2 (18650-type) batteries. The electrochemical and structural behavior of cathode and anode materials in fully charged and discharged states has been studied for cells exhibiting different cycling at 25°C and 50°C. High-resolution neutron powder diffraction leads...
The work deals with the study of the phase and structural behaviour of the rare-earth substituted BiFeO3. X-ray powder diffraction examinations revealed that the polar R3c phase in the Bi1−xRExFeO3 systems with RE = Er, Tm and Yb do not exceed 7, 4 and 3 mol.% of rare earth, respectively. Partial substitution of Er and Tm for the Bi sites in BiFeO3 reduce the temperature of the ferroelectric phase...
A new technique is suggested for determination of piezooptic coefficients, which represents a combination of digital imaging laser interferometry and a canonical four-point bending method. The design of interferometer, measurement procedures, and data processing are described in detail. Potentials of the present technique are tested on the example of widely used optical borosilicate glass BK7. High...
CdTe nanocrystals embedded in matrixes such as, glass, plastic and, aqueous solution have been investigated extensively due to their potential applications in nonlinear optical devices, biotechnology and medicine. When the size of bulk semiconductor is reduced to nanometer scales, the crystal gains new optical and electronic properties. Energy levels are quantized as in atoms and the energy difference...
