In recent years, ultra-high-frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) systems have drawn more and more attentions in a wide variety of applications such as retail item management, access control system, electronic toll collection, and etc. By incorporating with a commercial RFID reader, it has been noted that the phased array antenna can be implemented in a RFID system to either control...
In this paper, three different types of frequently used antennas in passive RFID tags with different sizes are investigated for voltage scavenging application. Most critical is to create a minimum voltage at the antenna port. Therefore, using simulations with two software packages, CST and HFSS, a detailed explanation is presented of the induced voltage at the antenna port versus antenna length and...
In this paper, a dual-band circularly polarized antenna is designed for the UHF band (860 MHz ~ 960 MHz) and ISM band (2.4 GHz ~ 2.48 GHz) RFID reader applications and novel microstrip patch RFID tag antennas for the UHF RFID band (908 MHz -914 MHz) in Korea are proposed. They have less sensitive characteristic against the size of metallic object, wide impedance bandwidth and a long reading distance.
In this paper, the UHF RFID tag antenna which has a SRR as a radiating part and inductively coupled feeding method are analyzed and designed. By using a SRR, the antenna size can be reduced and using an inductively coupled feeding method, we can obtain a wide bandwidth and a simple matching technique to directly attach to a tag chip. Also equivalent circuit model of the tag antenna is presented and...
We have presented a dual spiral line loaded monopole antenna on a vertical ground plane. The antenna has a 152 MHz impedance bandwidth (820 ~ 972 MHz) for VSWR<2 at a central frequency of 896 MHz. The proposed antenna covers both the cellular and UHF RFID bands in Korea and is suitable as the internal antenna of a handheld transceiver unit because of its thin configuration, broad bandwidth, and...
