The paper concerns the electrothermal analysis of the switched mode voltage regulator. It presented the calculations results of the characteristics in the steady state of the regulator containing the UC3842 controller and the boost converter. The correctness of the obtained calculations results was verified experimentally.
If a digital paraunitary filter bank (PUFB) designed using hypercomplex number theory is to be implemented in hardware, the throughput and chip area of used quaternion multipliers are of critical importance. In this paper, digit (L-bit)-serial quaternion multipliers based on the distributed arithmetic are presented as circuits well suited for FPGA-based fixed-point implementations of PUFBs. Apart...
We develop in this paper support vector machine (SVM) parallel classifier for image classifications. The SVM classifier basic modules are new modular log-domain four-quadrant current multipliers. The circuit was simulated taking into account real parameters of transistors in BiCMOS technology. There are many advantages of using such modular log-domain structures in high frequency large dimension circuits...
In this paper, a novel Gm-C filter for equalizers used in communication channels transmitting digital data for applications in CMOS integrated circuits is presented. Using the novel structure the poles of internal Gm-blocks are avoided and better stability and ability to operate in high frequencies are achieved. To tune the filter, instead of changing transconductance (Gm), we have used variation...
Certain applications do not allow for feedback in delta-sigma converters due to circuit topologies and/or practical problems inherent to feedback loops. As a result, this paper presents the analysis and implementation of a digital microphone utilizing a feed-forward only sigma delta A/D converter comprising of a Schmitt trigger, capacitor and sampling D-FF to digitize data. The system is analyzed...
Stability and precision of signals controlling particle accelerator is very complex problem. Most sophisticated analog design of vector modulator sometimes cannot provide signal with satisfying parameters. Very high frequency used commonly in these design limits number of samples per period that can be used for generation with digital analog converters. Method described in paper explains how to synthesize...
Modern experiments in particle physics are based on advanced and sophisticated electronic systems which have to operate under radiation impact. The problem of designing a hardened system becomes very important, especially in places such as accelerators and synchrotrons where the results of the experiments depend on control system based on digital devices eg. microcontrollers. This paper highlights...
During the development process it is very important to assure reliable communication between individual parts of the system. In a special case, when the system is implemented in the FPGA chip, possible solution of communication problem encompass not only ready-made solutions but also especially designed interfaces adapted to specific projects. This paper highlights Integral Interface -universal communication...
The generalized railway crossing problem was defined as a benchmark problem for comparing different formal methods and methodologies developed for specifying and analysing mixed hardware/software systems. Various solutions of this problem were developed by the real-time researchers. The authors of this paper presents the model of a crossing controller specified in terms of coloured Petri nets. Important...
Article presents concepts of Web application framework, based on model-driven approach, with high usage of code generation tools and application layout templates. It describes framework's architecture, and typical development lifecycle when it's used. Developed solution bases on open source libraries and frameworks such as Hibernate, Spring, Web Work and XDoclet. Due to implemented ready-to-use modules...
This paper describes implementation of Web-based content management system called lightCMS which enables users to manage simple Websites by means of a Web browser. Uncommon programming techniques used by authors made this system lightweight and efficient, and define an interesting problem to introduce.
A graphical extension of CCS process calculus called XCCS (extended CCS) is proposed in the paper. In the modified process calculus most operators were moved to a graphical layer to eliminate problems typical for CCS language, e.g. elimination of undesirable connections among agents. An XCCS model consists of two layers: a textual and a graphical one. The former is used to define behaviour of single...
This work presents the architecture of communication interface between nodes of dedicated cluster (custom computing machine) for electromagnetic field computations by finite elements method. The communication channel is based on LVDS (low voltage differential signaling) standard. Basics modules of transmitter/receiver units are also discussed. In addition paper presents the project of testing board,...
This paper presents a concept of an integrated development platform for fast and error-free implementation of embedded intelligent systems. The main idea reside in dividing the control program into separate logic layers. The lowest-level layer uses embedded real-time operating system. The high-level control is knowledge-based and provides an intelligent system behavior. The paper presents some implementation...
