This paper proposes half-wave Class DE low dv/dt rectifier using thinned-out method with delta-sigma (Δ-Σ) modulation. The thinned-out method, which eliminates some switch voltage pulses by maintaining the switch in on-state for one switching period, is applied to the half-wave Class DE low dv/dt rectifier. The thinned-out pulses which are generally given as predetermined pulse patterns are continuously generated with Δ-Σ modulator. In the circuit experiment, the circuit operation including the controller has been confirmed. The output voltage was varied from 8.5 to 5.0 V when the thinned-out ratio was changed from 0 to 0.5 at the input voltage 5.0 V and the switching frequency 1 MHz. The output voltage was maintained at 8.6 V by the closed-loop control when the input voltage was changed from 5.0 to 10.0 V at the switching frequency 1 MHz.
