In this paper, a new robust adaptive dynamic surface control is proposed for the tuning metal cutting system with PI hysteresis input. The main advantages of our control scheme are that: the control precision can be arbitrarily prespecified by a tracking error performance function which guaranteed the system tracking performance; the computational burden can be greatly reduced and the explosion of complicity problem inherent in the backstepping control can be eliminated. It is proved that our new scheme can guarantee all the signals in the tuning metal cutting system can be uniformly ultimately bounded. Simulation results show its effectiveness to the tuning metal cutting system.
