We report the fabrication of a hollow core photonic band-gap fibre with a loss less than 30 dB/km over a 125 nm transmission window. The 100-meter length of fibre has a minimum loss of 13 dB/km at 1500 nm. This result represents an improvement of nearly two orders of magnitude in the reported attenuation of air-core fibres
