Two new coordination frameworks, namely, [Zn 2 (aip)(Haip) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ]⋅2H 2 O (1) and [Cu 2 (aip) (H 2 O)(μ 3 -OH) 2 ] (2),were synthesized from the corresponding metal salts with 5-aminophthalic acid (H 2 aip) under hydrothermal conditions. They possess interesting 3D architectures constructed from the rod-shaped secondary building blocks with 5-nodal (3, 4, 5, 6)-connected and (3, 5, 6)-connected network topologies, respectively. Moreover, luminescent behaviors of two complexes have been investigated at room temperature and they show the intense blue emissions.
