The Ba0.4Sr0.6TiO3 (BST) ceramics with Bi2O3-B2O3-ZnO (BBZ) glass additive were prepared by the solid state reaction route. Microstructural observation demonstrates that the average grain size reduces obviously with increasing glass additive. The dielectric constant decreases and the dielectric breakdown strength (BDS) increases as glass additive increases. The energy storage density of ceramics with 5wt% glass additive is 0.62J/cm3 attributed to the relatively high dielectric constant and BDS. These results indicate that this material is a promising candidate for energy storage capacitor devices.
