The wetting properties of oil fields are related to the pair interactions between oil components, water and well rocks. In this paper immersion calorimetry is performed to study the interactions between selected solids and liquids. This approach gives an affinity scale of the different liquids for the different solids. The influence of some impurities such as resin or aromatics in a solvent is also studied.
