In this paper, a hot wire calibrator, which can travel at a constant and low speed ranging from 0 to 350mm/s, with an accuracy of +/-1mm/s, has been designed and constructed. The calibrator has also been used to counter check the accuracy of the hot wire calibration method. Preliminary measurements of the low speed tunnel with the calibrated hot wire, indicate that the tunnel is suitable for low speed experiment.
