In this study, two new species of the genus Callyspongia Duchassaing & Michelotti, 1864: Callyspognia pyeongdaensis sp. nov. and Callyspongia maraensis sp. nov. from Korea are described as new to science. All of the available information is presented in this study including the localities from which the species were collected and illustrations of spicule and skeleton.
The genus Toxares (Braconidae: Aphidiinae) is reported for the first time in Korea. Toxares deltiger (Haliday, 1833) is found as new to Korea. It has a wide host range causing it to be useful as a natural enemy for 31 aphid species within Aphididae. Diagnosis, host information, and illustrations are included.
All the known Korean species of the genus Oberea Dejean, 1835 are revised by confirmation of specimen. The recorded species of Korea were very confused and cited sequentially because of lacking confirmation, among them, O. fuscipennis, O. inclusa, and O. pupillata were misidentified as O. atropunctata, O. vittata, and O. heyrovskyi, respectively. And, O. simplex was synonym of O. atropunctata already...
In this article, two new species, Cochylidia flavifasciatus sp. nov. and C.hallasanensis sp. nov., of the genus Cochylidia are described for the first time with their diagnosis, distributional information, and images. Also, a checklist of all seven species known in Korea was provided with taxonomic arrangement.
Four species of the genus Meteorus (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Euphorinae) are reported for the first time from Korea: Meteorus brevicauda Thomson, 1895, Meteorus colon Haliday, 1835, Meteorus kunashiricus Belokobylskij, 1995, and Meteorus vexator Haliday, 1835. Diagnosis, distribution, and host information are provided for each species.
A taxonomic study of Korean Nehemitropia Lohse is presented. Two species, Nehemitropia lividipennis (Mannerheim) and Nehemitropia milu Likovský, are recognized and the latter one is new to the Korean fauna. A key, habitus photographs, and illustrations of diagnostic characters are provided.
