Thermal intergranular residual stresses in a textured Zr sheet were evaluated using a self-consistent formulation and compared with experimental results obtained using X-ray diffraction techniques. Results show that intergranular thermal residual stresses can affect macrostresses measurements by approximately 20% of the yield stress of the material. The self-consistent formulation was also used in the reverse way to determine the stress free lattice parameters of the Zr sheet, their values being a = 3.2325 a and c = 5.1464 a.
