In our paper, we give the simulation results concerning the multiple-comparison procedures, especially their error measures, such as FWER and FDR. We compare the powers of four popular multiple-comparison procedures, applied to three standard statistical models. All of our simulations were carried out by using the R-project package.
Mathematical model groundwater level lawering in aquifer located between two lawpermeable layers due to vertical drainage system is presented. In order to determine the distributions of water heads calculations were performed for three modes of subsoil confi guration.
The aim of the paper is evaluation of conformability between actual soil moisture appointed in laboratory and indices of soil moisture used in hydrology: Lambor’s anterior precipitation index (IL) and American index (Ia). The notation for soil moisture is taken from experiments conducted in Department of Agronomy experimental station in Chylice between April and November 2006. Statistical analysis...
The results of agrometeorological and soil moisture monitoring in the fi eld of sugar beet in the Kujawy region in 2005–2006 are shown in the paper. The examined growing seasons (IV–IX) were average in precipitation according to the SPI index. The moderate drought occurred in August–September 2005 and June–July 2006. The time distribution of precipitation and soil moisture in 2006 was more favourable...
The scour below the dam is numerically simulated using an Eulerian two-phase model that implements Euler-Euler coupled governing equation for fl uid and solid phase and a modifi ed k-ε turbulence closure for the fl uid phase and comparison with laboratory results. The modeling system being a part of CFD software package FLUENT. Both fl ow-particle and particle-particle interactions are considered...
The paper presents results of laboratory investigations of local scour in non-uniform non-cohesive bed material below a horizontal solid apron. An experiment of local scouring conducted in a glass-sided rectangular fl ume under clear- water conditions with constant water discharge was performed. In this study several non-uniform soils consisted of the following coloured fractions: 0.5–1.25, 1.25–2...
The water flow velocities in open channel through submerged flexible stems calculated using stationary uniform flow equation are presented. The cantilever beam theory is used to compute the defl ection of the flexible stem. The turbulent shear stresses were calculated using Boussinesqu equation. In order to relate turbulent stresses to velocity gradients mixing length theory was used (Kubrak E. 2006,...
