The patrol crafts were very useful units used by Border Defence Troops in the polish border protection system on the Baltic Sea. This article presents the most important decisions which had an influence on the construction works of the patrol crafts type “9” and “912” in the period 1954–1966. This article also presents how the procedures which had an influence on the shipyards in PRL were complicated and especially in the Polish Navy Shipyard.
