The last decade has been characterised by progressing integration of the Polish economy with the European Union and the entire global economy. The process of approximation of Poland's level of development and economic structure to those of other European countries takes place also in the food sector. Foreign trade in agri-food products is developing dynamically, the dietary patterns are becoming similar to those in Western Europe and the convergence of agri-food products' prices is progressing. Integration is the fastest in the food sector, where a reduction of differences in the sector's level of development and a significant approximation of sectoral structure and business breakdown structure are observed.
