The Scarab from El-Ar was discovered in a multicultural cemetery in the Fourth Cataract area in Sudan. This small object (20 X 14 X 9 mm) is made of faience with traces of green glaze. On the flat surface of the base, in an oval enclosure, two falcon-headed figures going right and holding hands, are deeply impressed. The left figure is crowned with a sun disk of Re, the god on the right has a feathered crown of Amun. The scarab is dated from the end of the New Kingdom to Third Intermediate Period in Egypt (from XX to XXV Dynasty, c. 1200 - 650 B.C.)
