Kiedy w 1956 r.
In 1956, when Malcolm McLean shipped the first containers, he probably couldn’t even imagine that his invention would contribute not only to the revolutionary shift in transportation but also a revolution in the whole world economy. Also in Poland, a rapid development of container handling in sea ports and their haulage within the country has been observed for the past several years. The aim of this paper is to indicate how the growing potential of the intermodal transport, particularly terminal infrastructure and line infrastructure in the Poznań region can positively influence the economic growth of the Poznań agglomeration, especially its south – east territory.
