W kolejnej części artykułu przedstawiono przykłady praktycznych zastosowań proponowanego podejścia i przeprowadzono dyskusję uzyskanych wyników.
The paper presents characteristics of the research aimed at aiding design of machine tool and cutting process diagnostic systems. Namely, the research aimed at development of a tool - Intelligent Diagnostic System Designer (IDSD) - that would provide facilities to minimise time (cost), which a designer would have to spend on analysing, testing and selecting the best configuration of sensors and signal processing methods. The IDSD is based on a concept of Intelligent Monitoring System (IMS) defined in the form of recommendations and requirements. Among others, the intelligent system should automatically (without human interaction) select the data that shows the best correlation to the observed phenomenon and, then, automatically model a relationship between the selected data and the observed phenomenon. In the consecutive parts of the paper the applied data selection and integration methods are characterised and examples of their practical implementation are depicted. The data selection methods are based on artificial intelligence methods, mainly. For data integration, the Feed Forward Back Propagation neural network and Mamdani fuzzy logic system are applied.
