W pracy opisano badania zawartości bromianów(V) w wodzie do spożycia przeprowadzone w dwóch stacjach uzdatniania wody powierzchniowej należących do Górnośląskiego Przedsiębiorstwa Wodociągów S.A. w Katowicach: Dziećkowice i Kozłowa Góra, gdzie wykorzystuje się technologię ozonowania.
Water is the most important chemical compound for life, so its quality is of extreme importance for the people. In Poland, water for consumption shall be obtained mainly from surface water and groundwater. Water disinfection by-products depending on the method of treatment may be e.g.: trihalomethanes, chlorophenols, or inorganic compounds such as chlorite, chlorate or carcinogenic bromate. The paper describes the analysis of bromate in drinking water conducted on two surface water treatment stations belonging to the Upper Silesia Waterworks in Katowice: Dziećkowice and Kozłowa Góra, where ozone technology is used. Analysis of water at selected stages of its purification was performed by ion chromatography using post-column derivatization and UV/VIS detection. The obtained detection limits of 0.4 žg/dm3 are definitely better than the commonly used method in accordance with PN-ISO 15061, making it possible to find changes taking place at different stages of technological process.
