Composite bars BFRP (basalt fiber reinforced polymers) are increasingly used in construction. Their main advantages are corrosion resistance and the lightweight of the bars. However, despite the advantages over steel bars, the development of structures using non-metallic composite bars is limited due to the high initial cost and insufficient stiffness of the structural elements. The solution may be the full prefabrication of such elements. The article presents the results of a comparative study of 4500 mm long prefabricated beam elements with longitudinal and transverse reinforcement in the form of steel bars and BFRP composite bars. The resistance to bending and shear was determined, as well as the deflection and the nature of the failure of the tested elements.
