Proces azotowania prowadzono w zakresie temperatury 400÷500°C, w atmosferze amoniaku (50 i 100%). Do badania zużycia zastosowano metodę tarcza-kulka w roztworze 3% NaCl i określono stałą szybkości zużycia w warunkach z polaryzacją i bez.
Duplex steel belongs to the group of stainless steels. Its application in friction conditions is limited due to its low hardness. Therefore, one of the methods to improve this property is a low-temperature nitriding process. However, due to the two-phase structure of the steel the nitrided layer has also different morphology, which affects the corrosion resistance. The paper presents studies on tribocorrosion wear of nitrided layers. The nitriding process was carried out in the temperature range 400÷500°C, in an atmosphere of ammonia (50 and 100%). The pin-on-disc method in 3% NaCl solution was applied for wear tests. The wear rates were determined in two tests conducted with and without polarization. The results demonstrate that the nitriding parameters have an influence on the corrosion related shear in total wear.
