Opoźnianie terminu siewu powodowało zwiększony przyrost masy wegetatywnych organów łubinu żółtego i znaczne zmniejszenie masy organów generatywnych.
The investigations were conducted at Grabów Agricultural Experimental Station, Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation - National Research Institute, within the years 2004-2005. The experiment was established in split-plot - split-block design, at 4 replications on the soil of very good rye complex, IIIa class. The first order factor were yellow lupin cultivars: thermoneutral - Legat (determinated form) and Polo (traditional form) and non-thermoneutral - Markiz (determinated form) and Parys (traditional form). The second order factor were sowing dates: I - very early (beginning of April), II - two weeks after the first date, and III - four weeks after the first date. The aim of research was to estimate the dynamics of growth, development and yielding of thermo- and nonthermoneutral yellow lupin cvs. depending on the sowing date. Clear differences were observed in response of studied cvs. on sowing date and weather course in the years of research. The delay of sowing date strongly increased the mass of vegetative organs in yellow lupin and considerably decreased the mass of generative organs. It concerned most of all non-thermoneutral lupin cultivars, since thermoneutral cvs. only to small extent changed the rate of mass accumulation. In 2004 characterized by typical for Poland climatic conditions the delaying of sowing date caused great drop of yielding seeds in non-thermoneutral cvs. and considerably less in the case of thermoneutral ones. Non-typical weather course in this year caused vernalization of seedlings grown from the seeds sown also at later dates and therefore the decrease in yields of all lupin cultivars were similar.
