W roślinach pora zimujących w polu wzrastała zawartość azotu ogólnego i potasu, zaś poziom azotanów był nieco niższy w porównaniu do zanotowanego w okresie jesieni.
In field experiment conducted in 1988 - 1991 at Piastów Experimental Station there was studied the effects of the rate, method and time of N and K aplication on the yield and overwintering of leek Wila cv. the nitrogen was supplied to soil an single dose (200 kg N/ha) before transplanting or in splited application with 1 - 3 topdressings (100 + 50; 100 +2 x 50; 100 + 3 x 50 kg N/ha). In two other treatments the preplant fertilization with 100 kg N/ha was followed by foliar nitrogen nutrition in the amounts of 25 and 50 kg N/ha, divided into 4 doses. On half of the experimental plots the supplemental foliar fertilization with potassium was used in total amount of 25 kg K/ha in two sprays conducted in early September. Results of the experiment showed that the most favourable method of N fetilization was the splitted application: 100 kg N/ha as a preplant dose and 100 kg N/ha as topdressing. Similar results were obtained in the treatment with 100 kg N/ha as a preplant dose and 25 kg N/ha as foliar nutrition applied in 4 sprayings. Supplementary foliar fertilization with K increased the yield of leek harvested in October and in April after overwintering. Total N and K concentrations increased in leek plants after overwintering, while the nitrates content was slightly lower in comparison to that obtained in autumn period.
