The article presents research in the area of pragmalinguistics and rhetoric. It focuses on the category of auto-presentation and uses the materials from the meetings of the Investigating Committee available on the Internet (www.sejm.gov.pl), aiming at examination of corruption. The author analyses the inquiry of Wlodzimierz Czarzasty, the general manager of the National Radio and Television Council until 2004. He created the most controversial acts that encouraged Lew Rywin's corruptive offer. The author of the article focuses on his 'auto-presentation'. She studies the linguistic means he uses to manipulate the listeners. His strategies like providing information about himself directly, referring to popular individuals, high estimation of the group, he originates from, underestimating his mistakes and deceitful underestimating himself aims to achieve friendly attitude of TV viewers rather than the Committee itself.
