Optimal Pulse Generation for the improvement of ultra wideband system performance
Ultra-wideband (UWB) is a new promising technology that has the capability to revolutionize the field of wireless communications. It uses very narrow pulses, of the order of a few nano-seconds, in order to have very high data rate communications. These narrow pulses spread the energy over a wide frequency band, and hence the name ultra-wideband (also called Impulse radio). As one of the major concern while choosing a pulse shape for UWB communication is that it should meet the FCC emission mask requirements. So In this paper, we will study the spectral properties of UWB pulses. Firstly we analyze the UWB Pulse Generation and Power Spectral Density (PSD) of the Gaussian monocycle and then extends our study for finding optimal values of pulse shape factors for Gaussian derivatives in order to meet the requirements of FCC emission mask. Then we study the pulses obtained by Modified linear combinations and Least Square Error Combination of Gaussian derivatives for same, different and optimal values of the pulse shape factors. In the end we conclude the work based on the obtained results. -
Ultra Wideband Pulse Modulation System in Comparison to Conventional Narrowband Wireless Systems
Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology is a wireless transmission scheme that occupies a bandwidth of more than 25% of a center frequency, or more than 1.5GHz. It uses very narrow band pulses of nano-seconds duration to provide very high data rate communications. These pulses spread the energy over a large frequency range because of which it is called ultra-wideband. Ultra wideband (UWB) technology, useful for both communication and remote sensing applications. In this paper, we will discuss the UWB pulse modulation system using gaussian pulse its advantages and comparison with conventional narrowband wireless systems. -
PULSE GENERATION AND ANALYSIS OF ULTRA WIDE BAND SYSTEM MODEL
communication - Ultra-Wideband (UWB) radio. Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology is loosely defined as any wireless transmission scheme that occupies a bandwidth of more than 25% of a center frequency, or more than 1.5GHz. Ultra wideband (UWB) technology, useful for both communication and sensing applications, uses the radio spectrum differently than the vast majority of radio communication technologies. UWB signaling has many attributes that make it attractive for a wide range of applications; from ultra-low-power RFID tags and wireless sensors to streaming wireless multimedia and wireless USB at greater than 1Gb /s. This chapter introduces MATLAB simulations of such system have been performed and the performance of such system due to different pulse shaping scheme is compared. Different spectra are produced and their properties are measured. Further study explores possible ways in suppressing the spectrum and means to quantify the spectrum. -
