The acquisition of the part of Silesia by Poland in 1922 was an important event for both Silesians and Poles. The press observed and described this process with great attention and it was particularly active in the border areas. An example of that may be the city of Częstochowa and the “Goniec Częstochowski” newspaper published there. The inhabitants of the city and its surroundings were informed about the stages of acquiring Silesia by Poland. The activities of the residents of Częstochowa in this process were also reported on the pages of the newspaper. Moreover, it characterized the greetings of Polish soldiers entering Silesia as well as the meetings with the Silesians.
