The article is a theoretical input of the original authoresses' definition of virtual organization (VO) in the context of collaboration based on: the analysis of the literature from this field and on the survey. It is an attempt to systemize the recent knowledge. There were presented the findings of the authoresses' research on the implementation of the conception of the VO. This conception of the VO refers to: the collaboration between enterprises with the emphasis on the practical relevance for enterprises and determining the critical conditions for the VO's success. .
