The article introduces the Polish community in Colorado, and in particular a group living in Denver and its vicinity. Its first part brings a short history of the Polish settlement in Colorado, and a description of the community, its institutions and organizations. The second part presents results of the research conducted among some representatives of the Polish group in the spring and summer of 2002. The main issues taken into consideration in the research were: problems of assimilation and adaptation of Polish immigrants to the new socio-cultural reality, the national identity of the first generation immigrants, and changes the community must have undergone due to the clash between Polish and American culture.
