The article concerns the Catholic priests' role in life of Radziwills of Nieswiez as tutors and educators. In the first part of the paper were presented models of upbringing and education that were taken up in the household of the Dukes Radziwills of Nieswiez, and changes of the norms that appeared in this field in the 18th century. Subsequently, there was presented an issue concerning the social status of clergy tutors in the Radziwill household. There was also described a way of choosing priests for scientific tutors, who met the requirements and what particular orders the candidates descended from. Last of all, there were also discussed the wages they were paid for the duties. Moreover, there was made an attempt at drawing a comparison between Church tutors' status and other servants' and friends' position in the Radziwill household. At the end of the paper was presented a tabular specification concerning priests that were said to have worked as tutors and educators of the young Radziwill Dukes.
