The aim of this paper was to show some of non ethical behaviors taking place on the mutual fund market in Poland in the period of 2004-2008 and to show potential consequences of such behaviors. Dynamic increase of number of funds and assets managed by them was connected with the use of non ethical practices including first of all advertisement presenting only advantages and omitting disadvantages. Bear market and investors becoming discouraged to funds as a result of non ethical behaviors caused significant decrease of number of people helding mutual funds units as well as decrease of net assets value.
