This article presents the meaning of the forward transactions in development of agricultural market in Poland. Agricultural forward play far less important role in the agricultural trade than future trade for example. Apart from that fact the agricultural forward transactions should be taken into the consideration as the part of the commodity trade system in Poland. Their construction gives some benefits for both sides of the contract. That is why the agricultural forward transactions are still popular in West Europe. Their role is to support the local producers in reducing trade risk or cost of manufacturing.
