ANTHROPOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF HUMAN REMAINS FROM THE MEDIEVAL CEMETERY AT GÓRZYCA, LUBUSKIE VOIVODESHIP (Badania antropologiczne szczatków kostnych z cmentarzyska sredniowiecznego w Górzycy, woj. Lubuskie)
The research involved bone remains of a population of 247 individuals which were found in bone pits and graves (43 in graves, 204 in pits). Their body height was determined: on average 169,8 cm in men and 158,5 in women, An analysis of anthropological content was made using W. Kócka's method. The people buried at the site were probably a mixture of Slavs and Germans with a considerable share of Mediterranean, Lapponoid and paleo-Europeid elements and with a lesser share of Armenoid and Nordic elements. The biological condition of the population was assessed on the basis of the paleopathologic changes in the skeletons and paleodemographic characteristics
