This report analyses prices of roundwood in 2007 and suggestions for changes of these prices in 2008 made by the biggest supplier in the domestic market - State Forest Enterprise 'State Forests'. It was observed that the prices rise in general, while at the same time the supply does not change much and the demand for wood is still not satisfied. The demand requires creation of a system of wood mass distribution in order to reduce an exorbitant price increase. The difference in roundwood prices offered by Regional Directorates of State Forests is considerable and differences in price range are significant. Factors impacting prices of wood and wood products have been determined. The following are among the most important: general economic condition in the country and in Europe (especially in Germany) and euro exchange rate - due to large exports of wood products.
