The subject of this article is a linguistic analysis of gender discourse in multimodal texts of press advertising. This analysis in a comparative one. The comparison is drawn between one Polish advert from a magazine 'Twoj Styl' and one German advert from 'Der Spiegel' (both from 2004), which show distinct similarity in many aspects. For the discourse analysis a multilevel linguistic approach suggested by German linguists has been used.
