The article is based on the analysis of the reportages chosen from the Polish edition of the geographic magazine 'National Geographic' and from the tourists' magazine 'Voyage'. The aim of the study is to show similarities and differences in frequency of used parts of speech, in styles and in the range of vocabulary. The results indicate that the usage of lexical items is strictly connected with the role which each of those two magazines plays.
