It presents the research results of the 'Management of Managerial Staff in International Companies in Poland' project conducted by a team from the HRM Department of the Wroclaw School of Economics. The article includes an attempt to provide answers to the following research problems: What are the relations in executive compensation between the head office and branch offices? What are the decision-making powers of entities on the central level and on the level of the investigated company with respect to the shaping of compensation strategy? What is the dominant internal structure of remuneration for managerial staff? Do organizational culture dimensions such as individualism vs. collectivism have an impact on the selection of criteria applied in the distribution of resources for managerial compensation?
