The article is a content analysis of an art and literature journal of the Polish émigrés in Germany entitled 'Bundesstrasse 1' edited and published by K. M. Zaluski. In the years 1993-1998 11 volumes were published. The journal indented to promote writers and artists from the generation of the exiles, whose contacts with the Polish journals and literary scene was limited. Poems, prose, visual arts and intellectual debates were the main threads of each issue. Authors were Poles living on both sides of the border. In the article, the authoress presents the role of the journal for Poles abroad, the editorial team and some managerial aspects of issuing the journal.
