We created a 9-cell biobattery stack on paper, which was capable of generating bio-power from microbial metabolism, delivering on-board energy to the next generation of paper-based systems. The developed biobattery stack has competitive advantages over other paper-based batteries in resource-limited and remote regions because water in every environment generally hosts various microorganisms that can...
Since the basic concept of using magnetic sensor to detect biomolecules labelled with magnetic particles (MP) was first disclosed by Baselt [1], significant development has been made on the material and structure of magnetic transducers. The tri-layer spin-valve GMR device can yield 4 times as much signal as the magnetoresistive device mentioned by Baselt. Magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) device can...
The evolution of the recoverable (R) component of negative-bias temperature instability (NBTI) is examined, as a function of the number of stress and relaxation cycles, for the SiON, HfSiON, and HfO2 p-MOSFETs. At typical NBTI oxide fields (~7 MV/cm), a steady and substantial decrease of the R component in the case of the HfO2 p-MOSFET is observed, while the R component of the SiON and HfSiON p-MOSFETs...
This paper describes SRAM scaling for 32 nm low power bulk technology, enabled by high-K metal gate process, down to 0.149 mum2 and 0.124 mum2. SRAM access stability and write margin are significantly improved through a 50% Vt mismatch reduction, thanks to HK-MG Tinv scaling. Cell read current is increased by 70% over Poly-SiON process. Ultra dense cell process window is expanded with optimized contact...
This paper describes a compact, portable, high-precision voltage standard based on 1 V programmable Josephson array. The accuracy of the system is estimated to be better than 4 nV. The system can realize the fully automatic measurement of voltage reference, as well as its weight and volume are reduced. "In August, 2007 this system was carried to PTB, Germany to make a comparison. The difference...
This paper describes an DC voltage calibration system which is improved to be more accurate and more easy to operate. It is based on 10 V Josephson array, and uses a fully automated system consisting of switches setup well designed for accurate measurement. An overall standard uncertainty is estimated less than 5 nV(1sigma) at 10 V level.
