We propose a new low-PAPR 16-QAM modulation using a non-zero crossing mapping for NG-PON. With this 16-QAM signal and SOA booster, a high loss budget of 29.4 dB at 20 Gb/s, which is higher by 0.9 dB than that of the normal mapping, was achieved.
Coherent Interleaved FDMA (IFDMA)-PON uplink transmission with 30Gbps-8PSK format over 20km SSMF is experimentally demonstrated. Digital carrier frequency offset pre-compensation technique enables coherent orthogonal subcarrier multiple access of 2 ONUs with free-running sources.
A novel power saving optical network unit (ONU) employing a self-sustained fast-lock clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit IC for 10 Gigabit Ethernet passive optical network (10 G-EPON) is presented. With its self-generated quasi-synchronized signal-based bursty CDR control, a fast wake-up time of the ONU within 497 ns supporting heavy-duty dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) cycles is fully achieved...
We present a novel 10G-EPON power saving ONU employing a self-sustained fast-lock CDR IC. With its self-generated quasi synchronized signal based bursty CDR loop control, a fast wake-up time of ONU within 497 ns supporting heavy duty DBA cycles was fully achieved.
We developed symmetric 10G-EPON ONU transceiver fully compliant with IEEE802.3av PR30. Output power of +5 dBm, sensitivity of -32.4 dBm, and fast LD turn-on/off time of 10 ns/7 ns were successfully achieved by newly-developed burst-mode pre-bias timing control IC.
Novel 10G-EPON dual-rate burst-mode 3R transceiver with receiver sensitivity of -31.2dBm for 10.3Gb/s and -35.6dBm for 1.25Gb/s was developed. 10G-EPON and GE-PON coexisting system of 32x ONUs with loss budget of 33.5dB was successfully demonstrated.
We demonstrate a high 27.5 dB system budget for a 10G-PON working within existing extended Giga-PON links, with newly designed 10.3-Gbit/s optical interfaces and G.975 FEC. The high link budget can support over 32x 10G ONUs across a 20 km SMF span.
