Generation and transmission of a 4-Gb/s electrical single-sideband single carrier QPSK signal within 2-GHz bandwidth in a 60-GHz Radio-over-Fiber system are experimentally demonstrated. After transmission over 50-km single-mode fiber, a negligible power penalty is observed.
Hybrid access network integrated with multi-level wireless vector signal and wireline OOK signal without optical filter is proposed for the first time. 312.5-MSymbol/sec RF 8-PSK signal and 1.25-Gb/sec BB signal are experimentally demonstrated.
This study demonstrates a novel filterless frequency quadrupling technique for optical millimeter-wave generation and WDM up-conversion. After transmission of 50-km SMFF, the sensitivity penalty of each channel is less than 1.5 dB.
The generation of optical millimeter-wave with frequency 8-tupling is experimentally demonstrated. 625-Mb/sec QPSK data transmission at 105-GHz (W-band) is achieved for the first time using the millimeter-wave generation technique and direct modulation of a NBUTC-PD.
A novel 60-GHz photonic millimeter-wave signal generation using a frequency quadrupling technique is proposed for the first time. A 312.5-MSym/s 8-QAM millimeter-wave signal at 60 GHz is demonstrated with negligible penalty following 25-km SMF transmission.
We show that optical up-conversion performs better than electrical up-conversion in simple IMDD-based 60 GHz radio-over-fiber links. Feed-forward equalization improved the performances of both systems, enabling error-free transmission of 4 Gbps over 500 m of single-mode fiber.
We experimentally demonstrate 10-Gb/s OFDM-QPSK signal with negligible penalty following 100-km SSMF transmission within 7-GHz unlicensed band at 60-GHz for the first time. The proposed scheme proves to be a viable solution for long-reach 60-GHz RoF system.
A novel all optical WDM up-conversion system using frequency quadruple technique is proposed. The proposed system can be utilized in the future 60-GHz band WiMAX RoF system.
5 Gb/s 16 QAM OFDM signal for ROF downstream link and 1.25 Gb/s OOK signal via RSOA for upstream link are demonstrated. Negligible penalty is observed after 25 km SMF.
Both highly spectral-efficient direct-detection 15-Gb/s 64-QAM and 20-Gb/s 16-QAM OFDM signals are demonstrated. Negligible penalty is observed following 25-km SMF transmission.
A multi-services hybrid access network has been experimentally demonstrated. The scheme has no RF fading issue; can carry vector signals, and requires no optical filter at remote nodes.
This letter experimentally demonstrates a multiservices hybrid access network integrated radio-over-fiber and fiber-to-the-home systems which share the same distributed architecture. A 1.25-Gb/s baseband signal and a 14.375-GHz radio-frequency (RF) signal with 625-Mb/s binary phase-shift keying data are generated and transmitted employing a commercially available dual-electrode Mach-Zehnder modulator...
