We demonstrate a single-wavelength fully-bidirectional and symmetrical 10 Gbps OOK transmission using simple direct-detection in downstream, and self-coherent detection in upstream over a standard 31 dB loss splitter-based PON, relying on wavelength remodulation.
This paper presents a proposal for a new PHY to implement Gigabit Ethernet over SI-POF. The block diagram and rationale of the proposed PHY is described, and its excellent performance is demonstrated in laboratory experiments.
POF-PLUS is a EU project pertaining to the 7th framework program with the aim of developing high-speed communication systems based of PMMA optical fibers for home networking and data centers. In this paper we report the results of the tasks focused on 1 Gbit/s communications for home environment after two years of the project.
This paper reports on the recent results of the EU project “POF-PLUS”, financed in the EU VII Framework Program and started on the 1st of May 2009. This project is fully focused on innovative transmission and component solutions for high speed links based on large core plastic optical fibers (POF). Two main applications are the target of POF-PLUS: next generation high-speed home networking solutions,...
