The paper deals with the determination of the appropriate current waveforms for the reduction of the total torque ripple in the surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous motors. The effectiveness of the used method is presented with the example of the three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor with exterior-rotor.

The paper deals with the design and development of a Iow-cost synchronous permanent magnat motor with exterior-rotor for fan drives applications. The permanent magnat synchronous motor is replaceable with the existent exterior-rotor induction motor regarding its stator construction, it has better elficiency and a higher power factor.

Round rotational single sheet tester (R.R.S.S.T.) is used for the measurement of magnetic properties in rotational and alternating magnetic fields. The homogeneity of the magnetic field and the influence of eddy currents on the homogeneity of the magnetic field distribution in the circular sample are investigated. Results of the calculation are compared with results of the measurements.
